Dame Chocolate is a 2007 Spanish-language telenovela, which was produced by the United States-based television network Telemundo and aired from March 5 until October 5, 2007. This limited-run serial stars Génesis Rodríguez as a sweet, simple girl who leaves rural Mexico for Miami to fulfill her destiny in the chocolate business.
Rosita Amado (Génesis Rodríguez) grew up in the village Xochlcacahuates. She comes from humble background. Her relatives worship EK Chuah, and ancient idol, the god of chocolate. She is the only person left who knows the secret Mayan receipt when her grandfather Juan Amado (Hector Suarez) passes away.
Rosita has an awkward appearance with buck teeth and a big nose. She falls in love with Bruce Remington (Carlos Ponce) a handsome heir to a candy factory, Chocolate Supremo. They meet when Juan chooses her to take over her grandfathers’ place in the company. Rosita leaves Mexico to Miami taking with her, her deaf great-aunt Dulce (Maria Antonieta de las Nieves), Dosdado her uncle (Ricardo Chavez) and her extended family.
Bruce’s mother, Grace Remington (Kristina Lilley) claims that the factory is near bankruptcy and plots against Rosita. Grace wants the secret recipe and enlists the help from her son’s lover, Samantha Porter (Karla Monroig) to obtain her goal. She tries to talk Bruce into seducing Rosita for the recipe.
Grace plotted Rosita's downfall, at the same time Bruce realizes that he truly loves Rosita. Rosita finds herself confronting the Remington and fighting for her grandfather’s legacy. Rosita searches for happiness in the United States find herself in the mist of hatred, jealousy and vengeance. She is caught between love and chocolate.
